Dear Neighbours,
As we prepare to come out of lockdown, and the funding measures come to an end, we have had to make some difficult decisions regarding our foodbank.
Unfortunately, we are no longer able to access the same amount of produce or funding that we have been able to during the lockdown period. This means that in order to continue a community food service from the Mildmay Community Centre, we will need to buy in certain products to redistribute among those of you who want to continue to access our resources.
Therefore, from Friday 30th April 2021 we will be replacing the food bank service with a
‘Co-op Community Food Hub Scheme’ whereby each person will be asked to contribute a small fee toward their Friday food parcel. This small contribution will then enable us to continue to support you and your family with weekly food parcels.
The fees will be £1:00 per person, in your household, including children.
We are sorry that we have had to make these changes, but we find ourselves in a difficult financial position, so require your help, to enable us to help you and your families.
If you wish to remain part of the scheme or would rather be taken off the list, please let Lorraine or Christina know by Friday 23rd April 2021.
Also from Friday 30th April 2021, we will no longer be able to deliver food parcels to you, this is due to the easing of lockdown and our volunteers returning to work. If you feel you still require a delivery, we will need to see proof from your medical practitioner or health worker that you are unable to collect from the centre.
Many thanks for your support.
Kind regards
